Walking together as one
03/08/26
We woke and went downstairs to the lobby to eat breakfast with our team. Then later walked over to the church/cafe to get some refreshments before the first service. We were going to attend the first service and serve at the second service. The whole church service was in Spanish. Some people on the team do not speak Spanish so they were offered translators during the service. The worship was so incredible they had different singers and instruments. The one that stuck out the most was a saxophone. The message was about how as followers we called to walk with God and other believers as one. During the second service we had a bunch of different task that our team split into. There were greeters, helpers in the kids wing, and helpers in the youth group. Someone from our team was able to lead the message for the youth group. Enoch got to share his testimony and share how walking with God completely changed him. There were three different age groups that were in the kids department infant to 4, 5-8, 9-10. I was able to serve with the 9-12 year old’s. This group had about 15 kids! It was such a sweet experience hanging out with the kids and getting to know them. But also we got to teach a Bible lesson to them, worshiped with them and did a craft. This ministry that I got to witnessed is so beautiful.
After church service we ate at the restaurant they had with someone from the leadership team and pastors’ family. It was a great time to get to know them and hear about their hearts for this church. We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping at the market for souvenirs. Until we went to the old city. The old city is a historical town in Colombia it is one of the oldest standing walls and town there. We ate at this crepes and waffles restaurant. We had a bunch of good laughs getting to know our field partner, his wife, and our team. Once we all finished eating we got to explore some of the old forts. We got to see different Cultural dances, different architecture, and some tourist shops. After the old city we went back to the hotel and had a time of debrief with the team because the next day we were going to the island of Tierra Bomba.
