Be open to new changes

We flew and landed very smoothly into the city of Cartagena. Once we passed through customs, we met with our field party JD and the intern Nicko. They were very sweet and welcoming. We drove to our hotel while the bus driver explained some of the history of the city. After quickly stopping at the hotel, we went over to Calvary church. This church is in a interesting location because it is on the fourth floor of a mall. In the church they have their own cafe and restaurant at the entrance. I find it to be such a creative way to attract young adults and teens to find this church. They served us dinner at the restaurant and we got to meet the pastor named Tim. he was able to share with us the history of the church, and after eating we were getting prepared to meet with their young adults ministry.

At first, I felt a little nervous about meeting everyone. A few of the PBA students were asked to lead worship in Spanish- we didn’t know beforehand, so we had to be adaptable. After worship we played a game with everyone and later sent a message and had small groups. This was such an amazing opportunity to connect with Christians from a different culture yet we were all around the same age. Despite our language barriers we were able to communicate and realized that we still all have the same struggles in life.
