Day 3 - Tierra bomba

After a restful night the team enjoyed one last meal at the hotel before packing and heading to the island of Tierra Bomba. To get there we found our way across the beach and boarded a motor boat. Once we arrived we watched an insightful video on the reality of what it means to be in poverty. With a new perspective we headed through the town and started a game of kickball with the locals. A beautiful picture of community was painted as the kids cheered and encouraged each other all around the bases. And as the sun set we made our way to a look out point where we stood in awe of the sun setting over the ocean and city. Making our way back to the house we walked through the neighboring town and saw the many steep roads and stairs people have to walk everyday just to get fresh water. Reflecting on the walk we realized just how fortunate we are to have clean running water so easily accessible. Overall, this day was filled with many emotions, challenges, and blessings.
