day 2 - god’s UNIVERSAL love
Noelle Eberly - March 19th, 2023
Waking up from out first night in Colombia, we were pleasantly greeted with a vibrant and savory breakfast which served as both a time to eat and fellowship with the team. The Lord flooded our hearts as we attended the church's 9am translated service and were convicted about the idols we may have in our lives. With joyful hearts we then poured out unto others as we served in the 11am Spanish service. We split into groups to serve in areas such as the youth group, children's ministry, church cafe, and greeting team. By the end of both services we began to see the impact that the Lord has been making through this church and how we can be a part of it. Piling into a bus, we then headed to a local skate park to host a competition and share the gospel. God's universal love that knows no language became evident as we interacted with the skaters. Although they mainly spoke Spanish, we were still able to share God's love by cheering on all those who competed. We even concluded the competition with encouragement rooted in the Gospel. On the drive back to the hotel, we enjoyed pizza and the presence of each others company as we laughed and fell more in love with our team and Colombia. We ended the night by exploring the local city and trying many new snacks! It's only day two, but the Lord has already had such a huge impact on our lives and how we serve.
Praises:
- being poured into during church so that we could pour out to others
- utilizing a passion, like skating, that the Lord has given many of us to share the Gospel
- further building of our team community
- exploring this beautiful city in Colombia
Prayers:
- for the Lord to continue touching each skater's life and safety upon them
- to provide opportunities for similar skate ministries in the United States
- for us to continue encountering the Holy Spirit as we move to our next ministry location tomorrow
