Day 7 & 8 - El Fin

The last day. The last wonderful team meals, the last ministry, the last time to explore, and some last goodbyes. But through all these lasts, there was so much joy. We helped ignite a connection between the church and a kids foundation, and although our last major presentations did not run smoothly, a relationship was able to be kindled. Throughout the rest of the day we got to debrief with Tim, our field partner, and discuss how the Lord encountered us during our time in Colombia. Having only half a day left in Colombia we went to the Old City to explore and learn more about the history of Colombia. Walking through the streets our bodies were stimulated with the energy as we felt emerged in the beautiful, lively history of Cartagena. The vibrant welcoming colors all around us were accompanied by exquisitely preserved Spanish Colonial architecture. This was simply a joyful and sweet time with the team to wrap up our final hours in Colombia. And all too quickly the last of the time passed and we were left with memories and a plane to catch. But although our time in Colombia as a team came to an end the country will forever have an impression on our hearts. The Lord has taught us so much and now we must continue serving in Florida. Time and experiences will come and pass but the Lord presence has no end.

At 2:30am on Saturday morning we packed up all our bags, said those last good byes, and boarded our flights home. As we sit on the train takings us back to school we reminisce on the week long snap shot of a glimpse into a potential life dedicated to ministry. Our prayers now are for patience in the Lords timing to reveal the next call he has on our lives. Over the past few months in preparation and especially during this past week the team has been so privileged to grow so close in community and we cannot wait to stay connected and continue to grow together.
